Lord Muruga is the second son of God Shiva and Goddess Parvathi. He is the God of Kaliyuga. He was born to kill the demon named Tarakasuran. He has six faces and six battle fields (Arupadai vedu).

He is the lover of mount and so most of his temples would be on mounts. He has two wives – Valli and Deivanai His vahana (Vehicle) is Peacock.
